Gibson L-1 from 1931 in very good condtion !
It's a pretty rare guitar. L-1 guitars were only made between 1926 and 1937
The FON on the neck block dates the guitar to 1931
Light as a feather (1299 gram) and rings like a bell. It's a very responsive guitar due to it's light construction (thin woods, slim braces, and thin finishes). Performs beautifully with light strings
Original Kluson tuners which work well. Had at some point other tuners on.
Original brown finish
Playware +++ on the top but no cracks
Spruce top with simple white binding
Straight mahogany, unbound neck with RW fret board
20 frets in total - 12 frets to the body
No pickguard (sunburst L-1 guitars from 1930-31 didn't have a pickguard)
Action is good, plays comfortably up and down the neck
Had a refret and neck reset
Mahogany back (with simple white binding) and sides
Reglued RW rectangle bridge with a newer bridge plate
Probably original hard shell case with red inner lining
