For your consideration is this Gibson Super 400 Arch Top Acoustic Guitar made in 1937 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, in MINT CONDTION!

Introduced in 1935, the Super 400 model was the biggest guitar Gibson ever made and the most expensive (400 USD) one. Only a top professional guitar player could afford himself such an instrument at that time.

The guitar sounds really loud - it's volume and projection are remarkable

It is ultra rare to encounter a Gibson's swing-era masterpiece, in such an extremely well preserved and original condition ! The only modification that we are aware of is a refret.

  • The serial number (94230) dating the guitar to 1937, is written on the white oval label, hand calligraphed
  • Original cremona brown sunburst varnish finish
  • Headstock: 5 ply binding , split-block peghead inlay, fat script Gibson logo, georgeous 1st generation Grover Imperial tuners, art deco truss rod cover with the name of the original owner (Harry Hawk)
  • 7 ply bound body
  • Triple bound neck and f-holes
  • Handcarved bookmatched solid spruce top with original hand engraved hinged trapeze tailpiece, heel cap and pickguard bracket , 5 ply bound marbleized pickguard.
  • Bookmatched figured maple back and sides.
  • Flame maple neck with walnut center stripe
  • Mother of pearl block inlays on the solid ebony fingerboard
  • Adjustable compensated rosewood bridge with pearl wedge inlays
  • Scale length: 24,75 ''
