We always had a fascination for vintage guitars that have lived hard lives, who were used but not abused. While many people dream of acquiring a clean, perfect example, we always have been drawn to guitars with a story, guitars that have scars, those who were used in smokey bars or saw heavy use on stage . These are the ones that sound the best and most importantly, still have songs in them.
Last week this amazing , well aged, sunburst Gibson B25 from 1966 arrived in the shop and we were immediately blown away by its mojo looks and sound. The guitar obviously has been loved and played for a long time and plays like a dream.
Good to very good condition
Original Tuners (Kluson Deluxe 3 on-a-plate)
Neck: mahogany, low action, guitar plays like butter, has had a neck reset. Good condition of the frets, very little play ware.
Beautiful original sunburst finish. Vintage looking lacquer checking. Nicks and dings representing play ware for a 57 year old guitar. There are several top cracks and a glued centre seam.
Original pickguard, not schrunken, no pickguard crack.
Upgraded fixed RW bridge
And with a pick-up installed, it's perfect for the singer songwriter who wants to take the guitar to the stage.
Comes with the original -if not it's a time period correct - hard shell case with yellow inner lining.
All in all it's a great piece of the Golden Era of vintage Gibson acoustics.
It plays great and has a beautiful warm tone.
