1967 Gibson Dove , a vintage guitar with a lot of character and mojo charm !
The FON number 055580 is stamped on the back of the headstock and is written on the yellow oval label on the inside
The guitar sound really nice with a deep , warm , vintage sound. There's plenty of low end power and articulate top end attack to be had with the Dove, and the classic combination of a solid spruce top and fmaple back and sides gives the guitar great clarity and a crisp, dynamic tone. Whether you're fingerpicking delicate passages or strumming with authority, the Dove is an ideal tool, perfect for use on stage or in the studio.
The headstock has its original Grover tuners the Gibson logo and leaf in mother of pearl.
Mahogany neck with bound rosewood fretboard with mother of pearl split parallellogram inlays.
20 frets in very good condition
The guitar has had a neck reset resulting in comfortable action.
The nut width is 41 mm, so a bit wider (and more desirable) than most Gibson acoustics from the later 60ies.
The finish is original and is nicely aged and crackled contributing to the guitar's charm.
Solid spruce top with 7 ply binding and several well repaired (cleated) cracks
Crack-free solid maple back and sides with lovely reddish appearance and 5 ply binding.
Newer Dove pickguard
Original rosewood tune-o-matic bridge with 2 mother of pearl dove wing inlays and dots
Original braces and bridge plate.
The guitar comes with a non original but well fitting guitar case
